Meet Our Team
Our team at Goichi Shiotsu, DDS aims to provide individuals with a comfortable and relaxing environment where we strive to exceed your expectations through professional results and our friendly staff.
Arden (Dental Hygienist)
This is Arden's 20th year as a Dental Hygienist, and she really enjoys helping people achieve optimum oral health.
She graduated from Pierce College, in 1996, with a Degree in Dental Hygiene and Washington State University, in 1990, with a Bachelors Degree in Athletic Training. Her goal is to help you learn something new about your mouth each time you come in to see her and have fun while you're at it.
She has been married to an amazing Bellevue Medic for 23 years. She's a proud Marine MoM to her son, an ever encouraging soccer parent for her daughter and a daily hiking partner for her spoiled not-so-golden goldendoodle. She loves to read and enjoys her 2 monthly book groups. Her favorite place is any beach, any time.
Linnea (Dental Hygienist)
Almost all dental diseases are preventable, and Linnea's approach is to apply the latest dental hygiene techniques to prevent them. She provides quality care with a gentle touch and a commitment to patient comfort. She always takes time to listen to her patients' needs and to explain the latest findings in preventative care.
Linnea was born in Chengdu, China and fluent in Mandarin Chinese. She moved to Seattle in 2002, and has been a Mercer Island resident since 2008. She holds a Bachelors of Science in Dental Hygiene from the Orgeon Institute of Technology and an Associate of Science in Dental Hygiene from Seattle Central Community College. Besides her passion for dental hygiene, Linnea loves exploring Seattle with her husband and two young children. She also enjoys traveling, fitness and cooking.
Jen (Lead Clinical Assistant)
Jen has been working with Dr. Shiotsu since graduating as one of the top dental assistants in her class at Lake Washington Technical College in 2009. Before going to school, she worked at a dental office as a sterizationist, front office, and hygiene assistant for over three years, making her well rounded in the office. Jennifer’s love for dentistry shows in her enthusiastic smile as she educates and motivates patients on their home care and different procedures.
Together with her husband, Mike, for 5 years, they have two sons. Nate was born in 2014 and Benjamin was born in 2016. When she isn’t taking care of her husband and kids, Jennifer is hiking, camping, swimming, gardening, quilting, and hosting home cook dinners for friends and family.
Sara (Dental Assistant)
Our Sara (without the 'H') is relatively new to our office, but brings with her over 20 years experience as a Dental Assistant in all phases of dentistry.
Her early training was at Lake Washington Technical College, but she has since supplemented her education in dentistry with many ongoing dental education programs. Sara has also been training as a Licensed Massage Therapist, with additional education in Anatomy and Nutrition at Bastyr University. She cares not only about your teeth, but about your complete wellness. It's a holistic approach that will make you feel very comfortable and well-taken care of.
What about fun? That's her middle name! She loves to dance. She's a beach girl. She lives on the water and loves taking her dog Lucy out on long walks. She enjoys playing with a small posse of nieces and nephews and visiting with her many friends. One word of caution though: Sara has a sense of humor that causes her to crack herself up uncontrollably at unpredictable times (but, she promises, never during procedures).
Pam (Office Manager)
Pam is the first person to greet you with a smile and she instinctively knows how to communicate and interact with our patients. As our office manager, she is a team player, and our staff enjoys her crazy sense of humor and her love of laughter. Having been in the dental field since 1973, Pam knows just about every aspect of dentistry and we can call her “our jack of all trades”. One of the things she truly loves most about her job is being able to help, and connect with a large variety of people. She has a daughter Brianne, whose latest adventure was hiking the Apalachian Trail. Her son Michael is an RN, and both kids live close by. Rides her motorcycle which soothes her soul, as well as brings adventure to her life. She also loves line dancing, and is a theater junky.
