Who is the “white tornado” at Dr. Shiotsu’s office? None other than Wendee, who has been a Dental Hygienist for over 40 years. Her dedication to her profession is because she loves people of all ages and backgrounds. Wendee has the energy, enthusiasm and skills to help motivate her patients to obtain optimal oral health. One of the greatest experiences of her career was working for four different Periodontists for over 20 years as a Periodontal Hygienist. Wendee has a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Washington, Class of 1970. Together, with her husband, Benny, of 34 years, they have two sons, Byron and B.J., who recently married Quyen Pham. You can always find Wendee volunteering for community fundraisers, coaching girls basketball, golfing in the sun, and cooking up a storm for her family.
One of our hygienists, Sherrie, has given 33 years of service to our practice and considers many of her patients as extended family. Patients share that they appreciate her “gentle touch” and commitment to learning about emerging dental research, therapies and products. During the span of Sherrie’s forty-year career, she has been involved in many facets of her profession: teaching clinical dental hygiene at Shoreline Community College, serving as a testing consultant for a U of W program, helping develop the curriculum for the Lake Washington Technical College dental hygiene program, and serving as a dental hygiene board examiner. In her free time, Sherrie has served on the Bellevue School Board and several non-profit boards that support issues related to education and children. Married to Doug for 40 years, she has two grown sons and two precious granddaughters. Currently, Sherrie’s leisure time is spent reading, volunteering, gardening, grandparenting and traveling.
Pam is the first person to greet you with a smile and she instinctively knows how to communicate and interact with our patients. As our office manager, she is a team player, and our staff enjoys her crazy sense of humor and her love of laughter. Having been in the dental field since 1973, Pam knows just about every aspect of dentistry and we can call her “our jack of all trades”. One of the things she truly loves most about her job is being able to help, and connect with a large variety of people. Pam’s other half is her husband, Neil, who helps maintain our computer system. She has a daughter Brianne and a son Michael who live close by. She loves the theatre, traveling, reading, knitting, scrapbooking and gardening. Being close to nature and her strong interest in Native American spirituality balances her life.
Jennifer is one of the newest members of the team. She has been working with Dr. Shiotsu since graduating as one of the top dental assistants in her class at Lake Washington Technical College in 2009. Before going to school, she worked at a dental office as a sterizationist, front office and hygiene assistant for over three years, making her well rounded in the office. Jennifer’s love for dentistry shows in her enthusiastic smile as she educates and motivates patients on their home care and different procedures.
Jennifer was recently married to her husband Mikey in 2010 and couldn’t be happier with her new life. When she isn’t taking care of her new husband, Jennifer is hiking, camping, swimming, and hosting home cook dinners for friends and family.
